Project Overview

Hurricane Isaias made landfall on the Gulf Coast as a Category 2 storm in October 2026, bringing storm surge, heavy rain, and damaging wind to coastal communities. Phoenix Restoration Services deployed the Phoenix National Disaster Response Unit to support property owners in the recovery.

The Situation

Hurricane damage rarely stops when the wind does. Storm surge and wind-driven rain push water into buildings, saturate drywall, flooring, and insulation, and leave moisture behind walls where it is hard to see. Left alone, that moisture can lead to mold growth and structural damage within days.

Our Response

The Phoenix National Disaster Response Unit is a self-contained, mobile team built to work when local resources are stretched thin. As part of our National Catastrophe Response, our crews:

  • Assessed affected properties and mapped moisture with thermal imaging and moisture meters
  • Extracted standing water to stop damage from spreading
  • Set up professional drying equipment to dry structures and contents
  • Removed wet, unsalvageable materials and documented conditions for property owners and insurers
  • Coordinated next steps for repair so owners could move from emergency to recovery

The Outcome

Fast mitigation protects what can still be saved and gives property owners a clear path forward. Our storm damage restoration and water damage restoration crews stayed on the ground working alongside owners, so damage was stopped early and recovery could begin.

What To Do After a Hurricane

  1. Stay out of standing water, especially near electrical outlets and panels.
  2. Photograph and video all damage before moving anything.
  3. Shut off power and water at the source if it is safe to do so.
  4. Call a restoration company early. The first 24 to 48 hours matter most.
  5. Do not wait on drying. Mold can begin forming within 24 to 48 hours of water intrusion.
